I Dare You

Religion Is The Lie- Jesus said that religion keeps people from knowing God. In Matthew 23, Jesus told the religious leaders that they were like whitewashed graves. They looked pretty good on the outside but inside they were full of death and filth. He said they put heavy burdens on people and that they did not even know God.

The Truth Is The Fantasy Is True.- Hang on to your wizard cloak. The truth is that reality is a lot like a game of Dragons and Dungeons. The Bible says that, "We do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places." (Ephesians 6:12) According to Jesus, organized religion is pretty much aligned with the powers of darkness.

Jesus Is The Way, The Truth And The Light.- So, if religion is wrong, what's right? Jesus. He came into our world to make a way for us to know God. He's provided us with the truth about ourselves and about God. He offers light to lead us out of darkness.

The Dare

Set aside everything you think you know about Jesus, God and religion.
Get a Bible (any version) and really read what He said. Begin with John or Matthew or Luke or Mark.
I dare you to ask God (and you can say "if there is a God") to show you what is true.
If Jesus really is the Way, the Truth and the Light and if you really open up your mind (even just a little bit) to see if He is true, you'll know it when you read His words.

So What Are You Scared Of? Go ahead, pray the prayer and take the dare. If Jesus is a lie you've wasted a few hours reading a great work of literature. If He is the truth, you win joy, peace and a future with God!
