Should I Become A Christian?

Many people are confused about Christianity.
Following Jesus is not just another religion.
What Jesus offers is not a reward for being religious or doing good works. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
Jesus' offer is not limited to 'good' people or to people who for some reason deserve God's attention. (Romans 5:6-8)
Jesus offers salvation and eternal life to all who are willing to put their trust in Him. (Revelation 22:17b)

You do not need to 'clean up' your life before you come to Jesus.
You do not need to go to a particular church or cover up your tatoos or get a haircut or change the way you dress.
Jesus loves you just as you are.

Some babies come into this world with a fatal birth defect.
They may look beautiful and healthy but somewhere in their genetic makeup a time bomb is ticking.
The little body that looks so perfect is unable to support life here on this planet.
We are all born with a fatal spiritual flaw.
The Bible teaches that we are all born with dead spirits.
The part of us which relates to God is so damaged that we cannot even see our need to relate to God. (John 3:1-8)

Doctors and scientists are able to cure some fatal birth defects.
All that stands between these infants and health is a medical procedure.
But the infant can only receive that cure if the condition is recognized
And the parents must accept the facts and bring the child for treatment.
Through Jesus, God is offering life for your dead spirit.
The procedure is a spiritual rebirth which Jesus described.
This is available to you just as it is to every other person born on this planet.
In order to receive it, you must accept the fact that you are born with a dead spirit.
And you must offer yourself to God, through Jesus Christ, to receive spiritual life. (John 3:13-21)

God is a Spirit.
We come to God in a spiritual way - that is a way beyond what we can see with our physical eyes and hear with our physical ears. ( John 4:24)
That way is prayer.
Right now, right where you are, you can pray asking for this spiritual life.

Warning!
It is true that you do not need to make any changes to come to God.
But God loves you too much too leave you just as you are.
When you honestly turn your life over to Jesus, God will begin to change you from the inside out so that you will become more and more like Jesus.
This time of change and preparation will continue all through your life here on earth. (II Corinthians 5:17-21)

The best changes are the ones inside you.
God will give you joy and peace and hope.
He will help you in every area of your life.

If you are reading this message right now, God is trying to get through to you.
The Bible says that He is drawing you toward Him with gentle cords of love.
Are you willing to be loved by God?
If you would like to receive spiritual rebirth, the invitation is open right now.
Right there where you are, you can ask Jesus into your heart and life.

There is no magic in the prayer below.
The magic is in Jesus Christ.
For thirty-odd years He gave up all the glory that is His in heaven and He came to earth as a person.
While here, He told us how to receive spiritual life and He showed us God's love in action.
When the time was right, He willingly gave up His life in the most awesome demonstration of love ever.
Through terrible suffering, He fulfilled every prophecy in the Scripture concerning the Messiah - the One sent from God to redeem us.
He became the cure for our spiritual birth defect.

Just as physical parents must make the choice to receive treatment for their infant, you must make the choice to receive life for your spirit.
If you are ready to receive spiritual life, simply pray this prayer or something like it.
As you pray, God will hear you and will grant you spiritual birth which includes a relationship with Him while you are on this earth and life with Him forever when you leave this earth.

Father God, thank You for telling me that I need spiritual life.
Thank you for Jesus and for the new life that You offer.
I believe that Jesus is the Son of the Living God.
I believe that I am spiritually dead.
I know that I need the new birth that Jesus spoke of.
I believe that Jesus is Lord.
I believe that He came to earth to die so that I can have spiritual life.
I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead to prove that the power of death and sin were conquored by Jesus.
I want to turn away from sin and follow Jesus.
I accept Your gift of everlasting life with You through Jesus Christ.
I trust You to make whatever changes are best for me.
Teach me to love You better and to follow You.
Thank You for giving me new life in Jesus.
I pray this prayer in Jesus' Name. Amen

If you prayed and meant it to the best of your ability, God has started His work in you.
In His Word He promised this.
And God does not lie.
Just as a new baby needs food and care, there are a few things that your new born spirit needs.

We would love to hear about your decision to follow Jesus.
If you do not have a Bible or if you need someone to talk to, we want to be here for you.
Some one who cares is just an E-Mail away.
