Basic Home Church FAQ
Q: What Do You Believe?
A: Here are the things that we pretty much all believe.
Believing these things is not a requirement.
We believe:
- in God.
- that God is Love and that He loves us.
- that Jesus is the Word - God's expression of
Himself to us.
- that the Bible is inspired by God to help us
understand Him, ourselves, and the world we live in.
- that God relates to each of us as individuals - we
can encourage and help each other but the relationship
is God to individual rather than God through one individual
to another.
- that religion often keeps people away from knowing
God.
- that we as believers in Jesus are the church - organization,
structure and human authority are man-made and usually
not helpful to people who desire a relationship with God.
- that we don't need to agree on a detailed creed or statement
of faith in order to walk in unity.
Q: Where/when Do You Meet?
A: One of the really cool Bible truths is that we
(everyone who follows Jesus)
ARE the Church. Stop by at any time and BE the Church with us.
The coffee's on and you are always welcome.
Don't just go to church, BE the church!
Q: What Happens At A Home Church?
A: We share our lives with each other. We laugh together and
sometimes cry together. We encourage each other.
Q: What Does Home Church Look Like?
A:
God is into variety. There is no formula or pattern. We are like the
early church in that we tend to share things and to get together often
and wherever. But we don't look for rules or structure because the early
church was what worked best in that time and we want to be what God is
putting together for right here and right now.
Here are some
pictures. We'll add to them from time to time so
come back again and again.
