Suggestions From Kennbecasis United Baptist Church

Here are some suggestions from a church which used 'The Rest of The Story' in 2003. Heidi Foster writes:

We performed a modified version of _The Rest of the Story_ on Easter Sunday for a Sunday School Open Session. I was so blessed by simply reading the script and listening to the music that goes along with it that it was a no-brainer for me to choose it for our performance.

We did not play all of every song _ we faded them out at appropriate points (for example we didn_t _perform_ Thief as in the script, we played the first part while they were being nailed to the cross and then faded it out.

For Act 4, _Jesus_ beckoned to each cast member before they came and knelt at the cross. We also changed the beginning of that act to have only one of the thieves kneeling in front of the cross. Once the rest of the cast was kneeling, _Jesus_ beckoned to the other thief but he turned his back (and knelt facing away from the cross).

We froze the drama at that point and projected a PowerPoint slide show set to Salvador_s _Crucified_ that was very powerful. At the end of that song, _Jesus_ (who was our assistant pastor) stepped forward and closed the drama with prayer.

The cast quietly left the stage as the worship leaders came up and led us in _In Christ Alone_ to close the Sunday School session.

Thank you so much for posting this on the web. I do most of my research for resources and ideas online so I greatly appreciate your generousness in this regard.

Thanks again_
