programs used in schools, health care sites, work sites, and other
areas of the community.

important programs. Child Development Services provides training
and therapy for children three and younger who are handicapped or
at risk. Vocational Services offers various work-training options for

job placement. Residential Services offers three living options:
community homes, supervised apartments. and independent living
-with training in daily living skills. Other services include an in-home
respite program, speech and occupational therapy. behavior
management, transportation training, and parental education.

professional counseling for families and individuals with marital,
child-parent, emotional or substance abuse problems. Additional
specialized services include Veterans Readjustment Counseling,
Employee Assistance Programs, Foster Child/Parent education and
training, and a comprehensive out-patient adolescent substance
abuse treatment program. Fees are on a sliding scale based on
income so that everyone can afford services,
United Way funding also supports The Children's Advocacy
Center which is designed to provide social and therapeutic support
to sexually and severely physically abused children through the use
of modern interviewing and casework methods as well as
community involvement. This program uses a highly trained
counselor to conduct videotaped child interviews, with
representatives of law enforcement, the Office of Community
Services and the District Attorney's offices reviewing the tapes.
This will ensure that the children are only Interviewed one time
regarding the abuse and will not have to re-experience the trauma
of "re-telling" the story over and over. The counselor will serve as
the community team leader for the agencies that deal with abused
children to promote teamwork and ensure that children are
receiving the most appropriate and healing services possible.

Summer Camp for low-Income children ages 8-12 sponsored by the

for the redirection of energies toward positive social goals; raising
levels of aspiration; reduction of maladaptive behavior patterns; and
