Over The Hill (To The Birthday Party)

Birthdays come and birthdays go
Some are good and some "so-so"
At evening as the day grows colder
Me - I find I'm one year older!

A few more wrinkles - another pain
More gray hairs, these are my gain
For having lived another year
With many smiles and even a tear!

Pondering the joys and the woes
All the high points and the lows
There's nothing else I can say
I'll gladly await my next birthday

I may not see quite as plain
And maybe I will need a cane
Whatever it takes to survive
I'll be happy to be alive!

So here's to all who still are young
And here's to us, whose songs are sung
Enjoy each day - for now I see
The older I get - the faster they flee!
