Thoughts On Mother's Day
Mother
It seems to me, as I remember
That she had none of the world's goods
Then I remember she walked with us
And talked about God's lovely woods

Sometimes I thought our lives were hard
With few rewards that we could see
But Mother always found some way
To show how simple joy could be

"Happiness", she said, "is many things
that make one great big life
Lots of times we miss the joy
and only think about the strife."

Calmly going about each task
Mother lived that simple creed
I'm glad she taught me how to live
Trusting God for each day's need.
