I Remember |
when the children were at home The days were full and busy Some tasks were never done Sometimes when I was busy My mind on chores undone A little voice would call to me "Come on, Mom, we're havin' fun!" The years went by so quickly The children are grown and gone There's lots of time to do the things That had often gone undone But sometimes I wish that I could hear A childish little voice again Calling out to me inside "Come on, Mom, we're havin' fun!" |
To have some time alone To just be done with all the work And to sit alone in the sun Or to read a book or write a note Or to dream of far away places But now I know I'd rather hear "Come on, Mom, we're havin' fun!" --Arlene Hearn Price Art by C Demas |
