Battle of the Bulge

Talk about your battles
And the ones that you have lost.
Talk about your losses
And just how much the cost.

There's a war that I am in.
It's causing lots of pain.
Every battle that I lose
Is lost by just a gain!

How can just a piece of pie,
(a tiny one at that)
Be gone in just a minute
and leave a roll of fat?

Just a little slice of cake
Oh! It really isn't fair!
When I look in the mirror
It leaves me in despair!

So, go on dear friend of mine
Have ice cream on your pie;
You will still look slim and trim.
How can you? And why can't I?
